Dental care, How do you get your six year old to brush their own teeth?

My son is going on six and I would think by now he should be able to brush his own teeth.  However when I try and get him to brush his teeth I find him just playing around.  I get so bother by it that I wine up brushing his teeth for him.

I know I got to stop doing that but I do not want him to have bad teeth because he is too lazy to brush his teeth correctly.  Right now all his teeth are healthy with no cavities however my fear is if I stop brushing his teeth, they will not stay that way.

Trying making brushing fun for him. Instead of it being a chore or job make if fun. Have him pick out his own tooth brush he is more likely to use it if it is something he likes

Brush your teeth while he brushes his. Kids like to do what their parents are doing. Show him that it is fun for you so that he can see brushing is not a chore.

Well I think that you should not stop him from brushing but brushing his teeth for him. You are not teaching him anything that way. Brush your teeth with him. When you see that he is not brushing correctly or how you may like for him to

Stop him and show him how to brush is teeth by brushing yours. Say you do it this way now let me see you brush your teeth like I am doing. Brushing his teeth should not be turn into a bad time each time he goes and does it or why would he want to brush.

My daughter was the same way. I then got her a vibrating toothbrush. Which she like and told her she had to brush until one Hana Montana song was song all the way though.

She may have not brush the best at five but she did brush longer which I think helped off set her not brushing the best. She like listening to Hana Montana in he morning and at nights that she would brush to two songs.

I then had to tell her two songs was he limit. Well better to brush longer then not at all. See if doing something like that will work with your son.
