Dental care in New York, Broken Tooth Needs a Root Canal

Just a few days ago I broke a good part of my back molar off.  It not hurting me too bad but I know I need for it to be fixed.  A few people are telling my I  may need to have a root canal and a crown done.  I figured I would need a crown but the thought of having to have a root canal too is just to much.

I do not have dental insurance and though I not claiming to be poor I do not want to spend a ton of money either and could use help in finding a dental plan that will work for me.

    I would suggest seeing if you have any HMO dental insurance plans in your state that you can get. Normally they do not have waiting periods for major dental care and they will lower your dental cost greatly.

    However make sure you do read the plan terms and conditions becuase some HMO dental insurance plan will not cover out for you to see any specialist and some times you have to see a specialist to have a root canal done. So something to keep in mind when you are shopping out dental insurance.

    That is some good advise from that last reply. Dental HMO plans can be a good low cost option that normally do not have any waiting periods.

    With that said there are also dental discount plans. Dental discount plans are not insurance but they do start with in the next business day of your on line enrollment. They do offer a 20 percent saving off any of their specialist as long as there is one in there network of providers.

    You may want to get a dental discount plan for your current dental need since you have to deal with a broken tooth and you do not want to have it get worse by waiting for a plan effective date.
