Dental 4 Less – Senior Citizens Dental Insurance
Question: I am a senior citizen on a fixed income. Looking to get affordable dental care for myself. Which is cheaper to get dental insurance or a dental plan? Which is better to use in the long run? I just want to stay within my budget of what I can afford. Please advise what you would think is good for a senior citizen to get.
Reply: Dental discount plans are low monthly cost plans not insurance that helps you receive discounted prices at plan dentist. Savings generally run about 205 or more.
A low cost insurance plan option would be a dental HMO insurance plan. HMO’s are the lower cost insurance plan where dental services are fee based. Each dental HMO will have a detail fee schedule showing your cost for the different dental services that are covered under the plan. Typically preventive care is free under most HMO’s insurance plans.
Both a dental discount plan and dental HMO insurance plans have a net work of providers. You have to choose a plan provider for the discount saving and or the benefits to be valid.
Which is better still depends on what you are looking for as far as dental care services and if there are dentist you would like to go to under the plan.
