Some causes for Sensitive Teeth
- Receding Gums: A reason why someone may have sensitive teeth could be that they have receding gum lines that exposes part of your tooth root that is not covered by your tooth enamel. Receding gums, is common in older people, but can happen to anyone at any age. The tooth root which is exposed has tiny tubules leading to the tooth’s nerve center. So when you have hot or cold items it reaches the nerve in your tooth, which can then results in the pain you may feel.
- Tooth Decay: Having tooth decay (cavity) can also make your teeth or tooth sensitive.
- Thinning of the Tooth Enamel: Some happens due to age but also can happen due to brushing to hard, eating food or drinks that has acid content.
- Gum Disease: Having gum disease can also lead to having sensitive teeth.
