Dental Insurance, Looking for a dental plan without waiting periods
Why is it that dental insurance has waiting periods at all. If I could afford to wait six months to a year for my dental services then why would I buy the plan in the first place. Putting discount plans aside are there any dental insurane that does not make you wait for dental services?

Well try to keep in my the main reason why PPO dental insurance plans normally have waiting periods are because the insurance company is paying the your dentist the plan coverage amounts.
In order for them to do so in basic terms they need money on the account. Otherwise what is there to stop you from having a root canal the cost $1000.00 them paying 50% of it and then you turning around and canceling the plan right afterwords. The company out $500.00 and you only paid one month premium. PPO dental insurance plan would not be able to stay in business that way
What you would want to look for are dental HMO plan for the most part they do not have the waiting periods that PPO plan do.

Your last reply was right. It is an HMO dental insurance plan you may be wanting to look for. HMO dental insurance plans base their coverages on a fee schedule. This lays out the cost that you will pay for dental services and the dentist in their net work have agree to charge.
Since there is control over the cost this benefits the buyer in knowing not only the cost for dental services but HMO plan are general cheaper then PPO and do not have all the limitations that PPO normally come with such as waiting periods.
