Research Paving the way for Preventative Measures to Tackle Gum Disease
Study show that normal bacteria which live in our mouths provide the catalyst for the development of gum disease, a condition which leads to painful gums and the loosening of teeth. New research from Queen Mary, University of London has found that the unexpected finding could pave the way for the development of preventative measures in tackling gum, or periodontal disease, by manipulating the normal bacteria in the same way that probiotic yoghurt works to protect the intestine. Dynamic and static strength of an implant-supported overdenture model.
The conclusion of the study done shows that E-glass fibers, woven polyethylene braids, and polyaramid fibers withstood the fatigue regime and increased the flexural strength of the implant-supported overdenture model. Country Music Star Faith Hill performs at the Music City Dental Conference Fundraiser.
Faith Hill was one of many performers who had entertained at the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee. The performance was for a fundraiser for the Interfaith Dental Clinic back on May 6th. Something to Smile About, was held in conjunction with the TDA’s Music City Dental Conference. Sponsored by Delta Dental of Tennessee, the concert raised $67,000 for patient care. IFDC is a nonprofit dental clinic that provided more than $2.5 million in comprehensive and emergency dental services during 2010-11 and has more than 300 clinical volunteers.

Family Smiles, a family dental practice out of Fort Worth, Texas, has open in southeast Texas at the former Ubi Caritas Dental Clinic. Family Smiles will accept Medicaid, Chips, and cash paying patients. Also, in agreement with Ubi Caritas, Family Smiles will be seeing a percentage of patients that have no dental insurance at a reduced fee based on the patient’s income level. Ubi Caritas plans to continue using local volunteer dentists to see additional patients at the Family Smiles dental office.

Poor Dental Care can Lead to Death.
Back in 2007 a 12 year old boy dies from an untreated tooth infection. The infection spread to his brain and he had have two brain surgeries, though despite this the young boy passed away. This is not the first time a child or an adult has die from tooth infections that went untreated and sadly it probably is not the last time either.
