Dental 4 Less, ‘Insufficient evidence’ that natural sweetener xylitol prevents tooth decay
According to researchers at the University of Manchester in the UK. The evidence available on the effects of xylitol – a natural sugar substitute used to sweeten products such as candy, chewing gum and toothpaste – is insufficient to prove it prevents tooth decay in children and adults.
