Reviewing your dental PPO plans, Can I go to my own dentist?
I would like a PPO dental plan so I can stay with my current dentist need your help. I just lost my dental insurance that I was on since I changed jobs and the dental they offer my current dentist does not take it.
I do not want to change my dentist because I have very bad dental fears that my dentist is able to address without me freeking out. I was told they take any dental PPOs insurance plans but I been noticing with them you get less coverage as soon as you do not use their dentist.

You are correct that many PPO may reduce your coverages if you decide to choose a dentist not in their network of providers. There are a few that however will not change their coverages you just have to look for them. To name one (not knowing what state you are in there is Standard Life dental insurance.)
Also you may want to just get an indemnity dental insurance plan. The benefit of getting an indemnity dental insurance plan is that there is no network of providers. Therefore allowing you to choose your own dentist without worrying about having your coverages reduce.

Have you talk to your dentist to see if they are a provider of any PPO’s dental plan that way you do not have to go outside the network?
Whenever buying a PPO plan it is normally better for you to stay within the network of providers. Otherwise like the other reply stated you will want to look for dental Indemnity insurance plan.

For me I would change my dentist without batting an eye if I needed to. Since it is about what I can afford to have done that is important to me. Though I do not have dental fears however, I am sure there are other dentist just as good at addressing your fears.
If you can not find a workable dental insurance plan see if they have any affordable payment plans available. Since you been with them for a while they may be able to offer you one.
