Dental 4 Less – Who is a Family Member
Who counts as a family member?
Question: I am looking at your family dental insurance plans and would like to know what counts as a family member. I have myself that is 26 My mom that I take care of and my daughter who is five. Can I get one of your family plans since I am taking care of my mom? I mean since I have my daughter I have to get a family plan for us so I like to add my mom to it. Can you advise.
Reply: Generally speaking even though you are taking care of your mom she would need to have her own individual dental plan. Family plan typically consist of one – two parents and kids. Your mom can not in this case be listed as head of household then add you and your daughter as dependents cause you are over the age of 25
However for you and your daughter if it is just the two of you, you would not buy a family plan. You want to get a couple plan option as couple is two people either spouses or a parent with one child.
