How long should I keep gauze in my mouth after wisdom tooth removal

Question: Had my wisdom teeth removed four days ago and I still using gauze in the extraction site. The area still bleeds sometimes. There is also different colors on the gauze like yellow and brown and red is this normal?

Answer: You should make a call to your dentist that pulled the tooth.  See what he or she advises.  Your dentist may want you to come back in so that it can be check out.  Four days seems a little long for it to still be bleeding so I would not continue to wait it out.
