Dental Insurance needed for a self employed person.

Hello I am self employed.  I do computer work for serval different companies as needed.  Do to the fact that I am self employed I do not have dental insurance.  I did get a health insurance plan that offer some very limited dental and although the health fits my needs the dental does not.

I am looking for a good dental plan that I can buy that does not have waiting periods.   I would like to stay with my dentist but it is not a major be all factor.   Can you advise what would be a good dental insurance plan for me?

    Since you frist want to try to stay with your own dentist a good place to start with would be your dentist. Call your dentist office to see if they are a provide of any dental insurance plans.

    That way you can look for just the plans they are a provider of. If they are not a provider of any dental insurance plans you would want to look for PPOs. However normally PPOs have waiting periods. So make sure you read the plans details

    Well if you do not want waiting periods PPO and Indemnity plans are the type of dental insurance plans you want to stay away from

    Look for HMO dental insurance plans they normally do not have waiting periods but you need to choice a dentist inside their network.

    I got a dental discount plan. It started right away and I got discounts on all my dental services. My dentist took the Dental Choice + plan from Aenta so it worked out really good for me.

    See if you dentist takes any dental discount plans. That way you do not have to worry about all the limitations that come with most dental insurances.
